Your unrestricted gifts to the HaysMed Foundation provide many opportunities for better healthcare and added convenience to western Kansans. Just a few of the many projects supported by these gifts are highlighted here.
Through Foundation funding, HaysMed continues to upgrade power outlets to include USB ports throughout the facility. The USB ports allow for convenient charging of electronic devices. The upgraded power outlets, in addition to free 3-in-1 charging cords, help patients and families stay connected.
Unrestricted gifts also provided funding to the KidsQuest summer program offered through The Center for Health Improvement. KidsQuest incentivizes preteens to exercise throughout the summer months and receive rewards and prizes.
A grant to the HaysMed Continuing Care Department provides support families through Comfort Care Baskets. These baskets provide a convenient means of nutrition and energy to family members when they cannot leave their loved one's bedside.
Unrestricted gifts supported the purchase of CinemaVision, a 3D virtual reality system that transforms the patient MRI experience by minimizing stress or the need for sedation. Patients enjoy multiple entertainment options from standard video, television, or music while still allowing two- way communication with the technologist.
Our Food Service Team received a grant for a steam kettle allowing them to make large amounts of boiling water quickly and continuously. The steam kettle allows large-scale, safe production of soups, broths, sauces, beverages, and more.
Gifts provided interactive education materials for parents of children in the care of our pediatric clinic to ensure a healthy start for our youngest patients.
