Hospice Room Revitalization

Thanks to the Bill and Betty Longpine family, a new sofa, recliner, landscape artwork, television, paint, and flooring were added to a room on the acute floor that is dedicated in loving memory of Betty Longpine. The renovation was funded by the HaysMed Foundation Bill and Betty Longpine Hospice Endowment Fund.

In 2012, Tonya (Longpine) Staab and her family were looking for a way to pay homage to their recently departed mother, wife, and grandmother, Betty Longpine. The family had spent their final hours together with Betty at HaysMed room 218. The Longpine family worked with the HaysMed Foundation to establish the Bill and Betty Longpine Hospice Endowment Fund as a tribute to Betty and as a gift to HaysMed and the community.

Tonya Staab and Renee Longpine used their decorating expertise on the initial renovation of the room that was dedicated in 2013 and assisted in selecting the fabrics, colors, and artwork on the most recent renovation.
