Your gifts made In Memory create a legacy for loved ones who have passed away, while gifts made In Honor are the perfect way to celebrate special occassions that happen in your loved ones' lives, such as birthdays, anniversaries, and births. Donations can be directed where most needed, or designated to specific areas of patient care.

Memorial Gifts
Making a charitable contribution to HaysMed Foundation in the name of a lost friend or loved one can make a tangible difference in our region. Your gift will help us create a more healing environment for the people we serve at HaysMed.

After you make your memorial gift, we will notify the family of the deceased of your gift (no mention will be made of the gift’s value). You will receive an acknowledgement for your gift for tax purposes. Memorial gifts may be made online, over the phone, or by mail.

Directing Memorial Gifts to HaysMed
Families often ask how to encourage memorial gifts to HaysMed in honor of a loved one. The following language may be helpful in an obituary, either in print or online.

“In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in memory of (Name of Loved One) to (Name of Department, Program or Fund) at HaysMed, c/o HaysMed Foundation, 2220 Canterbury Drive, Hays, KS 67601 or online at www.haysmedfoundation.com/donate.”

If you wish to notify us that general gifts made in your loved one’s memory should be designated toward a specific program, or if you have any questions, please call the Foundation Office at 785-623-2350.

Honor Gifts
Sometimes a gift that not only touches the recipient but makes a difference in the lives of others can be the perfect choice. Honoring someone special with a tribute gift is a meaningful way to recognize a birthday, anniversary, wedding, or other special occasion. Your Honor Gift can be made on our donate page; simply include their name after selecting the Honor/Memorial section. You can include a personal message under "Additional Comments" if you choose.

Our HealthCare Champions Program offers a special way for patients to honor a doctor, nurse, or staff member for the care they gave. Click here to recognize a special caregiver whose hard work and efforts in offering quality, compassionate care made your healthcare experience more comfortable. We will honor them with a custom-crafted lapel pin to wear proudly and will let them know of your generous tribute.

Thank you for honoring special relationships in your life with a gift to HaysMed.
