HaysMed has achieved a level of excellence in large part because of generous people such as the late Paul and Virginia Miller. To honor the Millers' lasting legacy, the Paul and Virginia Miller Planned Giving Society was named in their memory. The Society recognizes donors who include HaysMed in their estate plans.
Although we usually associate it with honoring the past, creating a legacy is really about supporting a better future. The late Paul Miller wrote, “Virginia and I sincerely appreciated the wonderful and compassionate care that we and our friends received as patients at the hospital. We visited friends at Hays Medical Center numerous times, and were impressed with the care given to them. Virginia and I came to realize that few things were more important than having a quality medical center available for patients in this area of the state.”
Because of the charitable acts of the Millers, and many other families like them, health care at HaysMed is enhanced and enriched. Their legacy places them in good company, among the growing number of thoughtful and far-sighted donors who included HaysMed in their estate plans. The Foundation works with individuals and families to direct their funds to specific programs, or to provide much-needed general support. The Foundation, in turn, collaborates with physicians, nurses, and hospital staff to meet donor wishes, and to develop the Medical Center’s capacity to meet shared objectives.
Some gift arrangements provide immediate benefits to donors, including income, while other estate plans may be postponed until after the donor’s lifetime. All enhance the health care offered by HaysMed. Learn more about which planned gift might be best for you by visiting our planned giving page.
Miller Society members are held in extremely high regard. HaysMed and the HaysMed Foundation honor them for their foresight, vision, loyalty, and benevolence to this region of Kansas.
